My First Days Daycare was started in 1999 to provide children throughout Toledo with the best in early childhood daycare and afterschool care in the area. It was not licensed through the city and state until 2006. Kashaundra K. Besteda a longtime teaching professional, in addition to a 15-year career in daycare, preschool, and elementary environments with a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Toledo started the Toledo based children facility and when she outgrew her first facility a second MFDD was started in June 2011, calling it My First Days Daycare & Learning Center. At this time MFCDD has a combined total of 125 children from birth to 12 years of age enrolled and has provided them with a curriculum designed to advance and promote age-appropriate cognitive development in a secure and loving environment.
My First Days Daycare & Learning Center (MFDDLC) exists to provide a safe, developmentally-appropriate environment for infants, toddlers, preschool, and school age children. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care and education experience that promotes each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Our objective is to support children’s desire to be life-long learners.
MFDDLC is aware of the important need for affordable licensed child care providers and has become a participating member in the subsidized child care program that is funded by the government and managed by Child Care Information Services which helps low-income families pay their child care fees. MFDDLC has set out to alleviate the need many struggling working parents have finding a reliable as well as economical environment to leave their children while they are at work.
At My First Days Daycare & Learning Center (MFDDLC), our goal is to have childcare facilities that model how services are delivered to young children and their families and to child care providers. MFDDLC strives to give families a fulfilling and enriching childcare or aftercare program that is conducive to positive growth and remains in line with the objectives of the child’s parents and existing educators.
MFDD is enrolled in The Star Quality Program. The Star-Quality Child Care Program is part of the state’s plan to provide more information to parents and improve the quality of child care. It is a voluntary program for child care providers that encourages and recognizes quality child care programs. Each center can receive reimbursements for accepting certificate children if you participate in the Program.
